About unimeTypeRush
A typing test that measures honestly, and a few games built on top of it so that practice does not feel like practice.
What this is
unimeTypeRush is a free typing site. At its centre is a plain typing test: real words, a clock, and a words-per-minute number at the end that is calculated the standard way โ five characters to a word, with accuracy counted against what you actually typed rather than quietly forgiven.
Around it are typing games. They are not a different product; each one is the same measurement wearing a different coat, built because typing improves faster when you are trying to win something than when you are watching a timer count down.
The games
- Word Rain โ Words fall from the sky. Type them before they reach the line.
- Tank War โ Tanks close in from both sides. Type their words to stop them.
- Whack-a-Mole โ Moles pop out of nine holes. Press the letter before they duck back down.
All of them run in the browser. Nothing to download, nothing to install, and every one is playable on a phone as well as a keyboard.
Why there is no signup
Because it is not needed. Your best scores and your settings are kept by your own browser, which means they survive between visits without anyone having to hold an account for you. It also means there is no password to leak and no email list to end up on โ a deliberate trade, explained in full in the privacy policy.
The honest cost of that choice: your scores live on the device you set them on. Use a different browser or clear your site data and you start from zero.
Who makes it
unimeTypeRush is built and maintained by Medha Thaker, an independent developer in Gujarat, India. It is an independent project โ not a company, not a team, and not backed by anyone whose interests would compete with yours.
It is a work in progress and openly so. Games arrive one at a time, and the ones already here keep getting adjusted long after they are playable.
How it stays free
The site costs very little to run โ it is a set of static files on a CDN โ and the intention is to keep it free to use with no paid tier and no feature held back. Should advertising be introduced to cover running costs, it will be disclosed here and in the privacy policy before it appears, and it will not be placed where it interferes with a test in progress.
